Breast Augmentation
Cosmetic breast implant surgery, known as augmentation mammoplasty reshapes breasts for functional, but more frequently, aesthetic reasons.
During a breast implant procedure, a silicone breast implant, "gummy bear" breast implant, saline breast implant or gel breast implant is tucked behind a woman's pectoral muscle wall or fitted under the mammary tissue itself. Although an under-muscle breast implant looks more natural, it does lengthen the breast implant recovery time.
Based on the breast implant surgeon's assessment of the patient's anatomy, the incisions are made either around the areola (nipple surrounding) or near the underarm.
Assuming there are no breast implant complications, the plastic surgery breast implant procedure takes approximately two hours. Breast implant recovery lasts about two weeks. If a breast implant problem does happen to arise, however, there may be a need for a cosmetic surgeon to perform breast implant removal.
The price of breast implants varies according to breast implant size, the type of breast implant material and the rates of the breast implant doctor.
